Harvard Law, 99th percentile LSAT, Top 0.1% of Wyzant tutors

After three satisfying careers (software engineer, public interest lawyer, and educational publisher), I left the big city to come home to the mountains of West Virginia. I am happy raising goats and grandchildren at Storybook Farm, but I still want to share my love of law and logic with the next generation. That's why I tutor just one subject: the LSAT. Every student is different and every one is special. I can't predict what I would do to help make your law school dreams come true, but I...

LSAT

John-Paul B. from Charleston, SC

He focused on my biggest weaknesses on the LSAT and helped break down each question to show there is a method on how to answer each question correctly.

Scott, Is an excellent tutor, he not only tutors you on the material you have requested. He breaks it down to a foundational level, so you better understand the material. I would recommend Scott on a test preparation to anyone. Scott also finds ways to relate his teaching method to his students so they can better understand what he is saying.

Nichole G. from Hialeah, FL

Scott was very helpful and a real boost for prep on a very short time schedule / 3 days before the LSAT.

Scott is a blessed tutor! Scott was able to help me zoom in on where i need the most practice. he was able to asses my strengths and weaknesses and provide me with helpful tools that enhanced my understanding. Over all he is very patient, understanding and kind. he is very resourceful and left me with more and more hope after each session! High recommended!

Mr. Scott tutored three times a week for about two months on LSAT material. I just took the exam for the second time over the past weekend (2-6) and I have to say I felt prepared and way more confident going into the exam than I did the first time. The first time I took the exam, I went through a program with Kaplan. Their programs may work for some, but I learned more with Mr. Scott in two months than I did with Kaplan in six months. If you are looking to take the LSAT or to re-take it, I highly recommend e-mailing Mr. Scott. He was extremely helpful, he believed in me every step of the way, and he taught me new techniques that allowed me to find the correct answers quickly. I know preparing for this exam can be super stressful and cause anxiety for some, but I promise Mr. Scott does everything he can to help you reach your ultimate goal. He is truly a wonderful, caring, and intelligent individual! I can't thank him enough for all that he has done for me! Give this Harvard Law Grad a try and I promise you will not be disappointed!

A friend and I know a smart and capable woman, Jenn, who is well qualified for law school but has not sat in a classroom or taken a standardized test for several years. We wanted to help her do her best and approach the LSAT with the confidence we felt she deserved, so, a little over a week before the test date, we decided to arrange tutoring as a gift. We noted our interest in a local tutor on WyzAnt and Scott contacted us to suggest we consider an on-line tutor. We gave Scott a try and we could not have been happier with the spirit in which he approached the project -- even without knowing Jenn he was infected by the generosity of the project and made it easier for us -- and with the content of the tutoring sessions themselves. I am happy to convey my highest recommendation.

Magda H. from Novato, CA

We went through an lsat logic game problem specifically focusing on how to answer a global question. I acquired some power tools to help me practice answering more global questions this week for homework.

Jessica C. from Fort Worth, TX

I appreciate Scott's willingness and patience. This my second tutoring session with Scott, and it was juts as helpful as my first/initial tutoring session. Even though I do have "homework", I am confident that I will grasp the concepts/material much better with a tutor than just studying on my own. Thank you Scott!!

Bradley H. from New Castle, CO

Logical Reasoning Bible by Powerscore teaches arrow diagramming, so Mr. Somerville taught me a couple other methods for seeking logical inferences from conditional statements: we spent some time today learning conditional reasoning using venn diagrams and truth tables.

Brett T. from Greenville, AL

Scott pinpointed my weaknesses and what I would need to work on in order to improve. He gave the next step in our study plan and is very helpful.

Sarah B. from Greensboro, NC

More than any one tutor should be. Extremely kind, encouraging, and helpful. I am someone who needs a lot of motivation and a push to get started, and at first I was a little worried over how the tutoring sessions would translate over the internet, but with Scott that concern quickly disappeared. Extremely patient and always makes sure you will know more than the hour after you started. A tutor who becomes enthusiastic when seeing the effort and the progress being made after each session. If you cant wait to become more confident about your work and abilities, don't hesitate to reach out to Scott S.

Jordan W. from Little Elm, TX

Scott not only is incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable... He listens to his students, and cares about their concerns for their legal future. I got more from one session with Scott, and how well he explained the matters I struggled with than I have 5 months of books and other tutoring. I can't say enough amazing things about Scott, and I know he will help me succeed!

Joslyn K. from Palm City, FL

Scott takes the time to address how to get to the right answer using valuable techniques for the LSAT. Furthermore, he takes time to individualize lessons based on your specific needs. Overall, he is a amazing tutor.
